LG K10 LTE
Look and Feel
The design of LG K10 LTE is pebble. There are no sharp lines and the curved frame blends seamlessly into the textures back cover.
The phone is comfortable in palm with its rounded edge. The phone is light even at 142g battery inside. The size of the phone is 5.3 inch HD in cell display. The glass is not a scratch proof and it has a Pre -installed screen guard on the phone.
The colours are very pretty vivid and display is quite legible even under direct sunlight. It is a bit slow to react to changing ambient light . The transition is jerky and it has no notification LED. Headphone socket and Micro-USB port are placed at the bottom of the phone. Power and volume buttons are placed on the back. Those volume buttons are placed on softer side so that we can press many times while commuting. The texture of the rear cover offers good grip without looking tacky.
Software specifications
LG has created multiple variants of phone in different markets. It has quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC processor with 2GB of RAM and it is a capable processor. It consists of 16GB internal storage and it can be expanded upto 32GB via the dedicated microSD card slot.It supported 4G with VoLTE on Indian bands but only for SIM1 .SIM2 only supports upto 3G data speeds. Swapping of SIM cards is not possible here.
So if you eject one or insert a secondary SIM you will have to reboot the phone. The other specifications are Wi-Fi 11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, FM Radio and GPS.It has no fingerprint sensor, NFC, or USB OTG support.
It has a traditional app drawer interface. The Android navigation strip at the bottom can be customised to include an additional button for taking screenshots, notification strip and SIM switcher. You can change homescreen and lockscreen animations and add themes from Smartworld app .It has a double-tap option to wake or lock the screen.
The notifiation has toggle switches and volume and brightness sliders. We get floating notifications for an incoming call if we were in another app.The sub-menus inside the settings app can also be viewed as tabs in which we feel more easy for navigation. In extra it has Backup, QuickMemo+ ,Remote call Service and Tasks.
Performance
The user interface is very easy to understand and it is light UI. We will have 1.4GB of free RAM available for apps. The general performance was very good. There is no trouble with 4G performance or call quality. The LG keyboard is easy and comfortable to use.
One handed use is not possible all the time when there is a fair bit of plastic around the screen. It plays high-bitrate video files very well though not all the audio codecs are supported.
The music player supports FLAC but it has no equalizer presets for tweaking the audio. The headset is good for voice calls. The rear speaker is fairly loud for alerts but not great for media.
Camera features
It has 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. The rear camera captures acceptable landscapes and macros in daylight. The focussing and image saving is little slow and gets slower in low light. The images and video taken in low light exhibit a lot of noise. This is very evident when you zoom in to pictures.
The front camera has a decent job with selfies even in indoors.
It has the shutter button and other settings . You can hide them and simply touch anywhere to capture a picture. The latter option might be good for users who do not bother tapping to focus in manual way.
Battery Life
- The capacity of battery is 2300mAh which can be used for 10 hours and 24 minutes which is quite good.It takes long time to charge since there is no quick charging support.
- It takes around 16% in half an hour. The battery dosen't drain quickly with regular use.
- With the usage of 4G and wi-fi it can be managed upto a day.
