American projector specialist InFocus is taking its foray into smartphones rather seriously, launching a slew of models at different price points to cater to as many users as possible. The company also announced a partnership with Taiwan-based Foxconn to manufacture phones and TVs in India. With this kind of involvement, InFocus hopes to become a serious player in the rapidly growing Indian smartphone market

Pros:

  • Design is Eye-Catchy and no one can guess its price by looking at it
  • 5- inch screen under INR 6,000 is not offered in most of the smartphones
  • Screen is good overall and visibility is also good from all angles
  • LED notification light is present along with all required sensors
  • Double Tap to wake and other gestures are supported
  • Battery life is decent and runs for the whole day most of the time

Cons:

  • Both Cameras are below average and you can’t even think of doing low light photography
  • You can’t use Two SIMs and a microSD card at the same time
  • The Phone Lags in day to day usage and sometimes it even freeze
  • High-End games like Asphalt 8 lag so much even at lowest resolution mode
  • So much bloatware comes pre-installed on the phone
  • Sound from the speaker is not very loud and gets muffled when placed on flat surface
  • USB OTG is not supported by the phone

Verdict:

The only thing that makes Infocus m370 buyable is its Looks and Design. And this is where its Advantages end. In all other fields, this phone fails to compete with smartphones like YU Yunique (Review), Micromax Canvas Spark (Review) & Lenovo a2010 (Review). If your Budget is very tight, then my advice for you would be to buy one of these three smartphones. And if you can increase your budget a little bit, then you can buy much better smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime (Review), YU Yuphoria (Review) & Infocus m350 (Review). The Infocus m370 gets a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5 stars from us.

Overall Review rating: 3.0/5
