Design
The lenovo Vibe P1m has a simplistic design with combination of brushed metal and plastic. The overall design is not a trend setter and it is not going to grab attention or eye-balls. It is very sensible.
The back panel is made up of plastic and it fits tightly without any squeaks. It is not prone to fingerprints.
The dimensions of the phone are 141*71.8*9.3mm and weights 148 grams. The weight is well distributed and device feels quite solid in hands.It has 5 inch display and screen to body ratio is 68%. Above the screen there is an earpiece with set of sensors and has 5MP front cam with shooter.
It has capacitive touch buttons and has three keys- menu, home and back in the bottom. Volume and power buttons are placed on right side of the phone. The left side has a switch which can be used to turn on/off the ultimate power saving mode.On the top microUSB port is present on centre of the phone and a 3.5mm audio jack towards the left corner. micropinhole and speaker are at the bottom. It has 8MP rear camera with LED flash and below the camera there is a secondary microphone pinhole. The back panel is non-removable and swappable with 4000 mAh battery.
Display
It has 5-inch IPS display with 720*1280 pixels. It has a pixel density of about 294ppi. The colours on the display are quite accurate and contrast is good as well. The overall brightness is better.
The panel is not reflective and the sunlight legiblity is quite good.
Interface
It has Android 5.1 Lollipop with layer of Vibe UI . It has quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM keeps things smooth. It has no app drawer and all the installed applications appear on home screen. It has set of pre installed third party applications along with customary a google applications. It has SHARE IT and Lenevo Companion by default.
It has latest version of company's theme centre. It offers a wide variety of themes but it no loner allows the users to customize system UI, boot animation or notification UI. Guvera music app is also available on Vibe P1m. It has 16GB inbuilt storage out of which 11GB is available for user and it can further expandable via a microSD card.
Performance
It is powered by 64bit MediaTek MT6735 chipset with quad-core 1GHz CPU and 2GB RAM . On boot 1.2GB of RAM is available for usage. The performance is quite good and can handle all the day -to-day applications. It is capable of running up to 10 applications simultaneously.It has good gaming experience and can play mid-range games. The device falls when handling graphic rich games like FIFA and Asphalt.
Camera
It has 8MP rear camera with LED flash. It contains all basic features. The interface of camera is very simple. The settings like flash, HDR and camera modes are all available within camera UI home screen. The front camera is 5MP. It offers accurate colours and white balance is good. The images captured in HDR mode offer both highlights and shadows without losing on the contrast. we can shoot 720p videos but quality is not best.
Connectivity
It supports 4G LTE . It works on TDD Band 1/3/5/7/8/20 and FDD Band 40. It manages LTE Cat 4 speeds of 150 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up. It has dual SIM and both are micro SIM slots.It has wifi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot and bluetooth version of 4.1 and A-GPS. It has FM radio
Battery
The capacity of battery is 4000 and it is capable of charging another smartphone. We can expect long hours of usage. It lasts of about 15 hours and 38 minutes.
Verdict
It provides smooth performance and offers long battery life with good display.
